About Me
Rebecca Chamaa is a writer, visual artist, workshop facilitator, and mental health advocate. She holds a Certificate in Narrative Medicine from Columbia University and is a Certified Peer Support Specialist.
Her writing has appeared in HuffPost, Teen Vogue, Glamour, Business Insider, and other publications. Her visual art and workshops explore storytelling, creativity, mental health, faith, and the ordinary experiences that shape our lives.
Rebecca serves on lived experience advisory councils for Early Psychosis Intervention in California (EPI-CAL) and the Schizophrenia & Psychosis Action Alliance (S&PAA). She is a two-time recipient of an Impact Fund grant from Johnson & Johnson and a Fellow in the Storyteller Track at the Center for Faith and Justice.
Rebecca’s art and writing are currently in transition. After years of writing about schizophrenia, she is moving beyond familiar narratives and exploring something new.
She is currently working on three books, including an experimental memoir.
